What is a Redemption Product?

"Redemption products allow you to purchase back something previously sold or given"
ActiveMedia's definition for this would be to enable you to purchase a product with a coupon or ticket with has been previously offered to you (for instance, offering you a discount off your purchase). Activemedia have been building a portfolio of redemption products since 2001. These products are designed to redeem coupon or ticket codes sent to mobile phones or email, either by scanning barcodes or entering pins and redeeming in real time or via batch run against a central server. The portfolio of products fall into the following categories:

Point of Sale Redemption Hardware

• R1 RAPOS
• The RAPOS R1 Unit, also know as the BTT (Behind the Till) Terminali, is a small light and wireless multi-application terminal that gives you complete access to the RAPOSNet. By combining an easy to use yet clear interface with simple .plug-and-play. deployment the RAPOS. BTT Terminal has become the de-facto standard for redeeming mobile phone based promotions, vouchers and coupons at the POS.

Portable Redemption Devices

• PDA Scanner
• PDA scanners are portable, wireless devices capable of scanning barcodes off both mobile phones and "print at home" emails. The scanners are capable of scanning both 1D and 2D barcodes right off the phone screen, and also allows the user to type in pin numbers if required. Codes are redeemed in real time against our central server. In addition to the core redemption features, the scanner has full Access Management capability to track ticket numbers and customer access to events.
  The scanners are standard commercially available devices, and our redemption software is written for Windows Mobile 5. These scanners are particularly useful for mobile ticketing requirements where large crowds are expected and quick transactions are required.
• J1 Midlet
• Simply download an application to any mobile phone that support Java MIDP1.0 (that's just about all phones on the market today). The application allows pincode redemption, and real time redemption to our central server. The midlet solution is simple to deploy and simple to use
• J2 Midlet
• All the features of the J1 midlet plus accees control and barcode scanning. Coming soon in 2009...

• We've tied up with several System Integrators to enable coupons to be redeemed right inside the cash till. Codes are redeemed and equivalent amounts taken off the shopping basket total.
