Siemens has selected ActiveMedia Technology’s innovative RAPOS™ (Redemption at POS) solution to showcase the opportunites of mobile communication solutions in the M2M market at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes during 14th – 17th of February 2005. RAPOS™ already powers some of the leading mobile based promotions for operators and brands like Orange, Virgin Mobile, Blockbuster, Liquid, Carphone Warehouse, UCI, Odeon, Vue cinemas.
Siemens is showcasing the solution at the Siemens Ship as one application which is using a Siemens wireless modules. Beside that Solution Siemens show a handful of other selected applications that have tremendous potential for the future. As part of the showcase, the solution will be available live for customers to interact.
The application is going to be available for interaction by visitors and journalists alike at the Siemens booth in the Palais des Festivals and also on stand no. 31 on the Siemens Ship. ActiveMedia Technology is setting up the whole interaction. The barcode voucher is delivered to the handsets using SMS, which is then authenticated real-time on RAPOS™ terminals. Data about the redemption of the mobile voucher is captured.
ActiveMedia Technology has worked with Siemens for over 2 years developing RAPOS™ product and deploying it across numerous sectors and geographies. Siemens believes that operators can find tremendous opportunity through the use of this solution for their own loyalty and promotions, but also to offer it to brands and retailers and help drive data traffic through GPRS network.
