Case Study - Summer Sundae

Summer Sundae was interested in utilizing tixmob's mobile messaging service to communicate directly with festival punters before, during or immediately after the festival.

Solution


To combat fraudulent tickets, tixmob delivered named tickets to punter's mobile phones and email addresses with unique barcodes and 10-digit PINs. In addition to stewards ensuring that each punter's identification matched the name on their ticket, the barcodes on the mobile tickets and E-tickets were scanned to make sure they were valid tickets purchased from tixmob. Because the mobile and E-tickets are delivered immediately upon their purchase, online ticket sales continued all the way through the festival.


Results


Using the secure barcoding, ticket touting was eliminated and the few people who showed up and tried to use a fraudulent ticket were immediately flagged as having invalid tickets. "Our primary objective was to cut out touting and the tixmob system worked exceptionally well," said Richard Haswell. "The event went very smoothly on the door." Continuing to sell the mobile and E-tickets online through tixmob proved to be beneficial as well, as £14,000 in ticket sales revenue was generated via tixmob on the days of the event.

The Promoter communicated a "Thank You" message to all customers who purchased tickets through tixmob along with a note informing them how to buy tickets for 2009 Summer Sundae Weekender on tixmob.
